When you first start the book, you think you maybe lost chapter one. The author, or the main character rather, divides the chapters into prime numbers, just a little aspect of the book which makes it unique and truly characterizes Christopher, the main character. The book is clearly different and unusual. The writing style of Christopher is simple but almost complex. As we enter chapter 3 we begin to see more of Christopher's personality. He starts to use a lot of drawings or ideograms to portray his emotions. After flipping through the book I realized that this type of writing style and picture drawing will occur a lot. I personally love hoe the story is put together. He states that the book is not funny but rather serious but I could not stop laughing. Though we begin to learn about the story and the plot, it was almost background to the writing style in my case. The story does progress in these three chapters though and we begin to see the mystery at hand. It seems that in this first chapter we learn a lot about Christopher. We learn he likes to be the only person in the world, and is quite afraid of any physical contact from others or screaming of any sort by those around him. It is obvious that he is socially slower than others but very smart with math and numbers.
